Frequently Asked Questions
How did Charles Woodson Wines begin?
The idea for Charles Woodson Wines came after Charles Woodson discovered his affinity for fine wine; his friend, Rick Ruiz, took him behind the scenes at Robert Mondavi Winery where he learned the process of making wine; and the two of them enlisted their friend, Gustavo A. Gonzalez, an international winemaking consultant, to help them create a single barrel of Merlot for Charles to use as donation gifts. The project was so fun and the outcome so inspiring that they decided to make a second vintage. 2001 one barrel, 2016 110 barrels
